The tourism sector is doing very well in Dubai, as the figures published this week by the authorities prove. The number of international tourists rose sharply in 2023, and this is excellent news for Dubai, which is benefiting fully from the policy implemented by the authorities in recent years.
17 million tourists in 2023, a new record
The past year has seen Dubai welcome a record number of international tourists. For the first time, the number of visitors exceeded 17 million. This represents a 19% increase on 2022, the year of the World Expo.
Real estate benefits from record tourist numbers
The city of Dubai attracts more and more visitors every year. Whether they come to Dubai for business or pleasure, the influx of travelers is of great benefit to the real estate sector. Indeed, all these additional visitors are potential investors. Many tourists have decided to take the plunge and buy a foothold in Dubai in 2023. Some have decided to change their lives and settle permanently in Dubai. The direct consequence of this phenomenon is an increase in both purchase and rental prices.
Short-term rental booms
With 2.7 million more visitors than in 2022, the hotels are fully booked for 2023. But that's not all. In fact, many accommodations have been converted to short-term rentals. Prices are generally more affordable than hotels, and owners can achieve even higher returns than with annual rentals. Everyone's happy!
