Al Sufouh district is best known for being fairly close to the main tourist attractions of
Dubai. It's also home to some sizeable shopping centers (which we'll come back to later in this guide). It's a lively, well-connected neighborhood, easy to get to and quite affordable compared to others in the same area, which is sure to attract you.

Al SufouhHere, you'll find classic stores and stores, to say the least. Carrefour, Spinneys... These are supermarkets where you can buy all the products you actually need. Meat and vegetables, dairy products, cereals and household products - these are the perfect places to shop. Other small grocery stores are located throughout the neighborhood.
Boutiques and specialty stores
For purchases in boutiques and specialty stores, there's only one place to go: the
Dubai Mall. The city's largest shopping mall is just ten minutes away, so it would be a shame not to take advantage of it. You'll find over 1,200 stores in all (the Dubai Mall covers over a million square metres). Yes, in
Dubai and in particular in the Al Sufouh district, a number of sports centers, gyms and sports halls. These include the Sportify Academy, a sports center open every day except Sunday. Other gyms, such as TOPGYM, Snap Fitness Media City and Muscle Bound Gym, are also worth a visit.
In this district of Al Sufouh, and more generally in Jumeirah, you can also visit one of Dubai's largest gym chains, such as Fitness First, GymNation as well as The Warehouse Gym and FitRepublik. These gyms are generally very popular, not least for the quality of their equipment.
Parks and green spaces
There are several parks and green spaces in this part of the city.

In terms of leisure, in this
Al Sufouh district or nearby, are a number of parks and dedicated areas. These include

Legoland. These are really great theme parks to take your kids to for a few hours. The beach is another great option, especially at Jumeirah and its dedicated beaches. Last but not least, you can easily head to Downtown and the Mall of the Emirates for an afternoon's shopping.

Public transport in Al Sufouh
Bus and metro lines
Along the
Al Sufouh district, à
DubaiThere are several metro stations in the area. The stop
Mashreq is one of the few examples, along with the
Dubai Internet City Metro or the Al Khail stop. The Mall of the Emirates station is just to the north of the district. You can also opt for the streetcar or cab, with a number of stops including Knowledge Village and Dubai College.
Accessibility and frequency
As a reminder, at
DubaiPublic transport is extremely efficient. It runs once every 10 to 15 minutes or so, with frequency varying according to timetables and peak or off-peak periods. Generally speaking, the very first metro runs around 5:30 a.m., with the last train leaving around midnight on weekdays. On weekends, the last train leaves at 1am. On Sundays, the first train leaves at 8 a.m. (until midnight).
Schools in Al Sufouh

Al SufouhA number of schools are represented. These range from primary to secondary schools, such as GEMS. If you'd like to enroll your child in one of the French schools in Dubai, you'll need to turn to the Lycée Français International Georges-Pompidou, which is located much further away. There's also the Lycée Jean Mermoz and the Lycée Libanais Francophone Privé. These establishments are quite far away, but will enable your children to follow a French curriculum.

Crime rates
In this
Al Sufouh district but more generally in Dubai, the crime rate is among the lowest. It may even be one of the lowest in the world. It's one of the safest cities in the world. Firstly, the police patrol virtually all the time, all over the city. Secondly, the applicable laws are generally considered to be strict and severe, so there's little incentive to commit any crime. However, 0 risk does not exist, so remember to keep an eye on your belongings, just in case.
